Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Engevo Media LLC ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Tungs mobile application (the "App"). We designed Tungs to work without accounts and to keep as little data as possible.

1. Summary

Tungs has no user accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, or contacts.
We do not show ads, use advertising SDKs, or track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your personal information.
Microphone audio is processed only while Listening is on and is never recorded in the background.
We do not store your audio or your conversations on our servers.

2. Information we process

Data	What happens to it
Microphone audio	While you have Listening turned on, audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to our speech-recognition service provider to produce a live transcript. Audio is processed in real time in the United States by default, or in the European Union if you select the Europe server region in the App's Settings, and is not stored by us. The microphone is never accessed in the background or when Listening is off.
Transcripts and typed replies	Transcribed text and the replies you type are sent through our server to our AI translation provider to be translated. This text passes through our infrastructure but is not logged or retained by us.
Anonymous app identifier	The App generates a random identifier (a UUID) on your device. It is used only to track your weekly live-translation minute allowance and your subscription entitlement. It is never joined with your name, email, or any other identity data.
Usage metrics	We keep first-party, aggregate counters (for example, minutes of live translation used and latency measurements) tied only to the anonymous identifier above. No conversation content is included.
Purchase information	Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only a signed confirmation of subscription status from Apple so we can unlock the App. We never see your payment details.

3. Service providers

We share data only with the categories of service providers needed to make the App work:

A speech-recognition provider — real-time speech-to-text. Receives microphone audio only while Listening is on.
An AI translation provider — text translation. Receives transcript text and your typed replies.
A cloud infrastructure provider — hosts our backend that relays the above and stores the anonymous usage ledger.
Apple Inc. — processes all payments and subscription management.

These providers process data on our behalf to provide the service, are bound by contractual protections at least as protective as this policy, and are not permitted to use your data for their own advertising purposes. 4. Data retention

We do not retain audio or conversation content. The anonymous usage ledger (minutes used and subscription status keyed to the random identifier) is retained for as long as needed to operate the weekly allowance and comply with our legal obligations, and is then deleted.

5. Your choices and rights

You can stop all microphone processing at any time by turning Listening off or revoking microphone permission in iOS Settings.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Deleting the App removes the on-device identifier; a reinstall generates a new one, unlinking any prior usage data from your device.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we hold no identity data, we may be unable to associate stored records with you; contact us and we will help where we can.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

All data in transit is protected with TLS encryption. Our backend keeps no conversation content, which limits what could be exposed in any incident.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union (speech processing follows the server region selected in the App's Settings). Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
